Review: Xilisoft iPod Rip

Xilisoft, the most trusted brand I use when it comes to video conversion. And now I've found out about their iPod Transfer, whwat joy! I'm the type of user who once uses a brand that's reliable and effective, I don't go on trying other brands anymore.

Here, I present: Xilisoft iPod Rip

Installation
Pretty simple and quick, just download the installer pack and click Install.

Interface
It's simple, it even has the Christmas theme to it! Though the skin names are pretty confusing and doesn't make sense. But it looks and feels good.

Adding Music

  • Just like iTunes, drag and drop interface.
  • Same as ImTOO, users can rip music to and from iPod to your computer. So useful when you want to copy what music your friends are listening to. Doesn't mess up other iPod library.
  • It supports all versions of iPod, iPhone and iPod Touch. Even iPod Nano 5 (video).
  • Syncs with iTunes as well, both ways.

Playlists

Effectively separates Audiobooks from Podcasts, TV Shows, Movies and the like. Organizes files well.

Artwork
No album artwork view.

Browse through songs in little thumbnails.

Tags
No tagging feature.

Video
Pretty much loads all video formats (M4V, MP4, MOV, MPEG-4, H.264) than most iPod Transfers or even iTunes itself.

Photos

No fancy album organizing or what, pretty basic viewing only.

TV Shows, Podcasts and Audiobooks

Organizes all audio well, puts in respective audio in its category. Minor glitches though.

Built-in Player
None. This one's a downer

Computer library management
Manage info both on iPod and computer, transfer back and forth. Sync with iTunes.
Doesn't have Genius as well, but I think Genius is not so important.
